Bottom Line

This four-pearl property has 59 rooms and is located in central Hvar, within a minute’s walk of the town square and a five-minute walk from the beach. It’s a cool and contemporary property with a spa, a rooftop terrace, an indoor seawater swimming pool with retractable roof, as well as a rooftop bar with panoramic views of the Cathedral, the Plaza, and the harbor. The excellent organic breakfast is free and goes down well with guests. Rooms at the Adriana are fairly small, but stylish, with colored lighting and glass-box bathrooms. Cool and contemporary interiors inspired by the island’s landscape

The design and atmosphere at the Adriana Hvar Spa Hotel is playful, bright, and trendy. The striking purple glass reception desk is the focal point of the lobby, where there are modern armchairs, vases of orchids, and a flat-screen TV mounted on the wall. The trendy decor continues throughout the hotel, which is designed to appeal to a younger crowd, though tourists of all ages stay here, and those with children are warmly welcomed too. The hotel offers babysitting, cots, high chairs, and children’s menus in the restaurant. The soft purple theme has been designed to mirror the island’s famous lavender fields, and locally made lavender products are used in the spa as well. The hotel goes the extra mile to add a touch of luxury to its guests’ stay, with a glass of prosecco and lavender-scented warm towels offered on arrival, plus homemade macarons in the rooms.

In the center of Hvar, with stunning views

The Adriana Hvar Spa Hotel is in one of the town’s best positions -- a seafront spot just 100 meters from the town square, surrounded by shops and restaurants. it also has gorgeous views of the old part of Hvar, including the Cathedral, Arsenal, Venetian piazza, and yacht harbor. The beach is just a five-minute walk from the hotel, and the Paklinski islands archipelago, a popular tourist destination, can be reached in just eight minutes by boat. The Hvar Fortress is a 15-minute walk up hill. It takes around an hour and 45 minutes to reach the Split airport by taxi and ferry.

Trendy design with free Wi-Fi and great views

The 59 rooms at the Adriana Hvar Spa Hotel are divided into Superior Rooms or Spa Suites. Rooms are fairly small, but are stylishly decorated using mostly natural materials like linen and wood. There are funky design elements, such as glass-boxed bathrooms, frosted-glass closet panels, abstract artwork, and green and purple mood lighting. Floors are mostly warm hardwood, with lavender carpets under the beds, which have leather headboards, duvets, and purple velvet throw pillows and bed runners. All rooms have air-conditioning, a minibar, free Wi-Fi, and views over the town or the sea. Spa Suites have a whirlpool bath as well as a shower, bathrobes and slippers, coffeemakers, and a sofa bed. The contemporary bathrooms have countertop basins, walk-in power showers, and toiletries. Previous guests have commented that rooms facing the marina and near the hotel’s bar can be noisy during the evening. Turndown service is offered for free.

Free organic breakfast, spa, seawater pool, and trendy bar

An excellent breakfast is included in the room rate here, with all the items on offer sourced from local organic farms. This includes smoked salmon, whole grain breads, freshly pressed juices, goats’ milk, and homemade marmalade, pies, and yogurt. The hotel has an upscale restaurant on-site that’s open for dinner and mainly serves steaks and seafood. There is a bar on the fifth floor, The Top, which has incredible views of the old city, the bay, and Paklinski Islands. It’s a very popular spot with people from all over the island, and has an extensive drink menu. An outdoor terrace is also available for relaxing during the day, and afternoon tea is served there during the summer months. The indoor heated saltwater pool is on the top floor of the hotel and has a retractable roof with lots of contemporary wicker lounge chairs and day beds on the surrounding deck. There is also a luxurious spa on-site that offers therapeutic and beauty treatments, as well as massages and products made with local lavender. The hotel also offers free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour front desk, a dedicated concierge, and room service.
